In the beginning of May 2016, four artists joined Nida Art Colony: Juhan Vihterpal (EE), Kristin Orav (EE), Austėja Dūdaitė (LT) and Karolis Tamošiūnas (LT).

The opening of the exhibition “Climbing Invisible Structure” took place on April 29th in the a century-old underground Water Reservoir, 20 Liepkalnio Street, Vilnius.

Workshop “Community and Utopia. Artist‘s Settlements in Eastern and East-Central Europe, from the Fin-de-Siècle to Socialism” at Nida Art Colony, 3–5 May 2016

Workshop is organized by the Centre for the History and Culture of East Central Europe (GWZO) at the University of Leipzig (research group Utopian Communities) and Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists' Association and the recently opened Project Space “Sodų 4” are happy to present  the exhibition “Soft Ground” by Polish artist Alicja Bielawska and her collaboration–performance with Kristina Aglaja Skaldina. The performance piece was created by the two artists during the residency in Nida Art Colony of the Vilnius Academy of Arts. The exhibition and performance are curated by Justė Kostikovaitė.

The exhibition “Climbing Invisible Structures. Ritualized Disciplinary Practices in Social Life” presents works by five artists: Tanya Busse, Victoria Durnak, Saulius Leonavičius & Vida Strasevičiūtė, Robertas Narkus and Kristin Tårnesvik. The works in the exhibition point to a wide range of ritualized practices, from performances executed by people who lived ages ago, to contemporary rituals. We invite you to take a closer look at the participating artists and their works.

VAA Nida Art Colony invites to the Open Studios night on Tuesday, 26th of April, at 5 p.m. Four artists: Wen Chin Fu (TW/NL), Jenny Lindblom (SE), Maria A. Maeser (AT), Kevin Rodgers (CA) will present creative projects which they have done during one or two months residency at Nida Art Colony.
